Gus and his seizures

Gus has experienced seizures now for about three years. In the past four months they have increased a great deal. We have been with him for up to six per week. We know that he is probably having them during the day while we are gone as well. We finally decided to put him on anti-seizure meds and it has been a good thing and a bad thing.
Gus has been a little out of it from time to time. In the evenings he tires out earlier and he is a bit lethargic. Knowing Gus, you are probably thinking that doesn't sound too bad:) It has been nice but it makes us realize that he is changing, he is getting older and this is a big deal for him.
Yesterday, I arrived home to hats, shoes, gloves and other odds and ends in our bed. This made me realize that Gus is still Gus and even though he has slowed down, he still does naughty things.
Today while on the phone with my mom he tipped a plant over because I was not paying attention to him. He sat down and poofffed at me as well. I just do not believe those people who say dogs don't have feelings. Mine has two feelings happy and irritated. Happy is great, irritated means something is going to be destroyed.
Here are a few pictures of Gus in the past couple of weeks...

Weather Changes

I love March.
I think I like it so much because it is a month of changes:)
Here are few changes I like:
The weather usually begins to change.
The time changes.
We have more sun light.
St. Patrick's Day is the cutest holiday.
All of my teacher decorating is done in green.
We get to take off our winter gear.
Boots become galoshes.

Oh and did I mention the weather changes?!?! :) I am finally ready for winter to be done. I actually really like winter. It makes me slow down and forces me to stay home sometimes.
I believe we finally had our last blizzard last night and Spring is on its way!
We were without power again for about ten hours, which actually was not too bad because it only got down to about 40 degrees in the house and it was over night. I feel bad for Amenia because every time there is a storm with high winds we black out. Maybe we need to go plant trees around the transmitter west of town. Or maybe I will just not comment because I am not even sure if it is a transmitter going out! I am going to leave it up to the experts at Ottertail to take care of business.

I think Gus is ready for Spring as well. He is getting a bit antsy to run and play outside. Sandy, could really care less. She does like to go outside more in the Spring and Summer but she is perfectly content laying on a pillow:)

I guess I am totally ready for Spring this year. I believe I am more ready this year than in past years.

RODEO

We had a fantastic day with our family, and Jess:) We spent the day walking around the Winter Show, eating corn dogs, watching the rodeo and enjoying Pizza Corner Pizza.
In the words of Clara Long..."A fun time was had by all and at tasty food was served."

Request

After receiving my tenth request for a Gus story I thought I better update on what Gus has been busy with lately. He is, after all, an extremely busy fella!

Yep, that about sums it up. Between barking fits of rage and confusion, Gus has been snuggling and sleeping these past few weeks.

Positive Thoughts

Sometimes I get a little bit down and out.

THEN I go out on Quote Hunting. I truly believe attitude is a choice! If I am having a terrible day, I try very hard to reset and think positively or find the good in the day.

Today I am quote hunting and finding some great ones.

Favorite today:
Train your mind to think in terms of 'possible' and 'can be done'.

The difference between can and cannot are only three letters. Three letters that determine your life's direction.

Positive and negative are directions. Which direction do you choose?

Reality is the mirror of your thoughts. Choose well what you put in front of the mirror.

The mind is the decisive factor in your life, but who decides for the mind?

To think negatively is like taking a weakening drug.

Positive thoughts are not enough. There have to be positive feelings and positive actions.

Being resolute, decisive and courageous in small matters and in big ones is being positive.

Positive thinking and negative thinking are attitudes. They are points of view, and show the way people handle their affairs.

Positive thinking evokes more energy, more initiative and more happiness.

When you have control over your thoughts, you have control over your life.

When you change your habitual thoughts, it is like changing the direction of a train.

Affirm the positive, visualize the positive and expect the positive, and your life will change accordingly.

When there are difficulties and you feel down, this is the time to visualize, think and expect the positive.

Do not let circumstances influence your thoughts and moods. By rising over them mentally, you will eventually rise over them materially.
