interesting tweet

As I was out looking for a good short story, quote, or something inspiring I came upon this twitter post. I know lame, right?

Well I actually thought it was rather interesting and decided to copy it on here so I can peek at it when I need to:)

Corey Wells writes...

"Believe it or not…life is not fair. Occasionally the bad guy wins, people do play favorites, some good people die young, some people will let you down and not everyone is honest. While we can accept this, it shouldn’t stop us from dreaming big, working hard and doing what is right.

Sometimes it’s who you know and not what you know that matters. It won’t matter that you are the better qualified or the obvious choice. Some will always select people who they personally like better than you. Others who you rely on will let you down. The is especially hard to accept if you are someone who always keeps their word and does what is right. If you’re like that, you automatically think others should too. We could have all saved ourselves a lot of emotional stress if we’d have known all this before we venture out into the real world.

If we’d have learned the way the world worked a young age, we’d have never invested so much in the opinions others have about us. We’d have realized that it’s simply not advantageous to always try to please others. However, it’s still important to keep in mind that life is worth living. The secret is to always keep an optimistic outlook. You simply have to learn how to deal with the negative while seeking out the positive. Once you’ve learned this lesson, you will have the ability to still go out and enjoy a full and rewarding existence no matter how unfair life treats you."

Quotes

My daily quote calendar has had a few great ones lately...

"Hope" is the thing with feathers-That perches in the soul-And sings the tune without the words-And never stops-at all.
                                       ~Emily Dickinson

Tuck [this] thought into your heart today. Treasure it. Your Father God cares about your daily everythings that concern you.
                                       ~Kay Arthur

Time is a very precious gift of God; so precious that it's only given to us moment by moment.
                                       ~Amelia Barr

Contentment is not the fulfillment of what you want, but the realization of how much you already have.

Happy Sunday

We had a fantastic day today. Here are few animal shots and the road to the South of Becky and Dale's.

Dana and Tractor Time

I had a fabulous day at the farm cruisin' on the Old 930. I am deathly afraid of snakes and decided the best way to check out the farm was on the tractor. I am just not going to chance an encounter with the slithery kind while on foot!!

7 and 5

Brendan and Carter have turned 7 and 5. The Scharbows and Maasjos got together to celebrate these monumental birthdays. It was lots of fun! Here are a few pics and video of the celebration.

The Big Hole From the Garbage Man

The Garbage man got a little crazy with his truck the other  day. That  mixed with the  frost boil ended in a very large hole. Here are a few pics of us fixing the hole. Bill got to drive the tractor while I was the manual labor. I got the joy of shoveling and raking.

Barney The Beagle

Barney the Beagle has gone to Doggy Heaven. Barney was the moodiest, gassiest, most loving dog I have ever met. He howled at the moon, ate rabbits and turned his back to you if you upset him.

During college I would come home to sleep in my "own" bed. That not only included a comfy pillow but an adorable not so little beagle to snuggle. My parents never allowed animals on their furniture...
but I did:)

Barney, you will be greatly missed. I know Mom and Dad have a heavy heart because you are gone. You were a great buddy and fun to go on walks with. I will never forget your waddle:)
