Sandy's great escape

I have many stories involving Gus, the turkey eating, couch destroying, window jumping, kennel escapes, the trip to Rover's Playhouse, and of course my favorite, the eating of my wedding bouquet. Most people that know me, know all about Gus, however, they do not know very much about Sandy. This first submission is designed to show and tell you about what my sweet little girls is capable of or the ways inwhich Gus can manipulate.
Sandy managed to fall out of our upstairs window, scratch her way down the roof and finally fall eight feet to the ground. What? How? Oh my goodness is she OK? Those are the typical responses that I receive from people when I begin this story. The answer is, yes, she has a broken leg. Just a broken leg, oh and it is broken in three spots and she has a cast.
How did it happen? This is generally the next question people ask and it is usually followed by another quick question? Do you think Gus did it? There are several ideas looming in our minds. Did she jump trying to escape Gus? Did Gus lure her near the window and push her out? Was she sitting quietly and Gus frightened her which caused her to fall out? How did the window get open to begin with?
Ah yes, these are the questions Bill and I have asked ourselves many times. We will never know the real answer but we are positive that Gus was involved and probably at fault in some way. Sandy will have her next check up on Monday and we will see how the leg is heeling. As for Gus, he has felt a great deal of guilt and has not left Sandy's side.

Dana,

Sandy is a beautiful dog. We have to labs and they sound like they are very much like your puppy. Our dogs sleep with us. One between mom and dad and the female sleeps around my head like a cat.

They love their parents!!! We love our babbies.

Nice job.

Eliza,
We were gone for two hours returned home to find Sandy sitting on our steps holding her paw up and whining. Strange, Strange, Strange!

HA HA, I LOVE this write up. It makes me giggle (sorry to Sandy, I know it hurts and isn't a very happy memory for her) but knowing Gus the way I do I can only imagine how all of this happened - I guess you do need to have video cameras after all :-) You probably could win $100,000 with Gus' tricks if you could just catch him in the act! :-) Good job, Dana!!!
