My Grandma Martha, my mom, and even my dad instilled in me, a love of cooking.
I really enjoy cooking. While growing up other kids thought that Michael Jackson, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Michael Jordan, and the cast of Saved By the Bell were really cool. They watched shows like My Two Dads, Cheers, Full House, and Family Matters. My favorite show was Cooking with Julia Child. I thought she was so awesome! My friend Justine purchased Julia and Julie, both the book and the movie, for me as my Christmas gift this year. I am not quite sure if she understands all of the meaning behind it but she did think it was a pretty neat gift and so do I;)
My dad and I would mimic Julia and talk like her while cooking. We would always talk about adding a hint of Sherry and drinking a bit ourselves. It was a fun thing we did together. Anyway I decided I would try my hand at souffle making today and had a nice little day of cooking.
Today I whipped up some chicken tortilla soup for dinner and tried my hand at a crab souffle roll this afternoon.
My souffle turned out amazingly delicious. Bill does not like the crab/sherry/onion flavor but I love it! We both enjoyed some yummy bulldogs as well.
Here is the quick version of cooking...it took about 2 hours from start to finish and was totally worth it.

Gus and his ouchy
Gus's past few days have been pretty rough. To spare the details we will just say he had some troubles near his rear end and it got scary for a few hours. I was not sure what was happening to my darling pup! He is on pain meds and antibiotics so he is doing great. Sandy has been watching him during the day. She is keeping a close eye on him ensuring that he is safe, comfy, and well cared for.
Gotta appreciate the love these two share!
