Christmas Fun

Jillian had so much fun at all of our Christmas Events this year. She really enjoyed gift opening. Not so much for the gifts inside, just the act of opening gifts. She starting opening gifts as soon as there were gifts under the tree and was a little miffed when, after our last Christmas, she found no more gifts under the tree!

Where have you been?

One of my goals of 2015 is to start blogging again. I enjoy blogging and I enjoy reflecting back on previous posts. So why haven't I been blogging? I am not sure I guess, but I am back at it!

40 years

Mrs. Maasjo has made the decision to retire! On Wednesday we went to her first retirement social. It was pretty cool to see all of the people that we grew up with and have not seen for a few years. We got to see Marge Jensen who used to sneak us glass pop bottles while we were helping mom get her classroom ready. Of course mom's fellow retiring partner, Cheryl was there as well. It is pretty crazy that two of the best Special Education teachers in the state are retiring the same year.
Both Dustin and I have followed in Becky's foot steps and will probably never have the level of patience she has. However, we try!

Mother's Day 2014

We had a great day today! We started out by bringing brunch to Bill's mom, headed over to Dale and Becky's for dinner, over to St. Petri to stop at Sophie's grave and a nap on the way home for Jillian and I. I got to chill and catch up on a few things while Bill and Jillian played.
I am amazed at how calm our weekend was and how we love to just be together with whatever we are doing :)

Party

We had lots of fun at Jillian's birthday party! It was nice to get together with everyone. We had the party out at Dale and Becky's because our house is just too little:) Some day we will get a bigger house!
Jillian was a little reserved with so many people around but she eventually warmed up and was a bit more social. She just isn't a crowd gal! She was OK with Morgan and Carter holding her, though.

One Year Old

Our little miss is one year old! She is sweet and smiley. Jillian is such an awesome little girl and we are blessed to be her parents.
She is still pretty tiny and not on any growth chart. She was following her own growth curve for quite awhile then she got the stomach bug twice, Ear/Eye/Throat/Sinus infections, RSV and now has Croup. Needless to say, she hasn't kept her intake as high as it should be. Hopefully soon she will be done with all this sickness business and onto growth! The funny thing is, with the tummy bugs and the croup, she was/is so smiley!
Jillian meets her milestones on her own schedule at her own time. She gets a bit of extra help from OT and other resources we have tapped into. She loves her OT Kelly and has enjoyed her weekly visits :)
Jillian continues to teach us new lessons of love every day! She is an awesome child of God and we could not be more proud to be her mommy and daddy!

V-day

When I fell asleep Thursday night, I prayed that Friday would be a good day and my annual mishaps would not take place. I just wanted an enjoyable day with Jillian.
Looking back, it was a good day. There were a few bumps along the way but I made it.
I got stomach sick in Target, which caused a few issues but I found my coat and wallet intact when I thought they were gone, I made it home only to find a slightly depressing letter from the IRS. Overall no major mishaps just a few irritating little ones.

This little lady made my day fabulous and I am so thankful she is such a sweetheart :)
